It’s time to think differently about your fragrances – your choices are more than skin deep. What are the ingredients in your fragrances and how do they effect your body, health, and mood?
Fragrances are the leading cause of skin inflammation. Many fragrances are made from petroleum-derived ingredients and many more potentially dangerous chemicals and synthetics. To compound the problem, in order to protect industry “trade secrets,” fragrance companies aren’t actually forced to disclose their entire formulation. This is why if you pick up a bottle of conventionally made perfume or cologne, the ingredient label will read “parfum” or “fragrance” with zero transparency as to where those fragrances come from and whether or not they are synthetic chemicals, essential oils, flower enfleurage, or plant extracts. If you have chemical sensitivities or allergies to certain plants or additives, this automatically rules out the use of MOST fragrances on the market.
Ardently Botanicals formulations offer something different – a product made from plant extracts and oils – free of any synthetic fragrances. Every ingredient is listed on the product description, no matter how small a percentage is added to the product. No hidden “fragrance” labels here. Our scents are made by mixing plant extracts, plant absolutes and/or enfleurage, and essential oils with an emulsifying agent made from plant sugars. These scents are left in airtight glass bottles to meld for several weeks, and then blended with pure grain alcohol and distilled water. A plant-based broad-spectrum preservative derived from radishes is added to ensure that your fragrance stays fresh and bacteria-free.
Each ingredient used in our products is linked to an ingredient profile on our website, where you can read about it and learn why we use it and how it is made.
